The Rover Boys series, first published in 1899 under the name Arthur M. Winfield, was another of the Stratemeyer Syndicate series books. In fact, it is thought to be the first of their many well-known fictional juvenile adventure and mystery series, including The Rover Boys, The Bobbsey Twins, Tom Swift, The Hardy Boys, and Nancy Drew. These series were some of the first packaged (written by ghost writers and in-house editors) books and were hugely popular.
