General Electric built the test locomotive #s 751 and 752 in 1953 then after 100,000 miles of testing were modified. They were upgraded to 25 h.p. and re-emerged from the Erie GE works as prototypes for a new GE locolmotive the U25B and was "a carefully integrated design to meet the requirements of a new era of fast freight railroading." This is their story.
