Herbert Kline, director of several movies in the 40s, and John Steinbeck have combined their talents to tell the story of the coming of modern medicine to the natives of Mexico. The motion picture was produced in 1941 and the wonderful photos in this book are stills from that production. The text by Steinbeck show his understanding of the problems of taking modern medicine to primitive countries, which Mexico was at that time.
