Delightful series of children's stories, songs, poems, games, coloring pages which started as a children's magazine for 3-8 year olds in 1912 and lasted 20 years. Terrific illustrations, some by Johnny Gruelle, author of Raggedy Ann & Andy among others, and the important illustrator ,George Carlson, who contributed over fifty covers and most of the puzzles, riddles, and activities to the magazine. According to Wikipedia, Martin Gardner said the magaine "was a "pioneering publication" and the "most entertaining magazine" aimed at this age group published in the US." Then the magazine was priced from 10 to 50 cents over its twenty-year run.
